For every one of the 50 million abortions that have been performed in the U.S. since Roe v. Wade, there are as many post-abortive women. Abortion is not something that women freely talk about or share about their past. It is often a hidden scar that affects countless aspects of their lives.
True, abortion kills an innocent child. But, it does a whole lot more than that. It cuts into the very fabric of what it is to be a woman and stifles the maternal instincts that God created in womankind. With so many abortions, it is not a stretch to assume that daily we are all in touch with women with abortion as a significant part of their past. As this issue is such an emotional and political powder-keg, every time a post-abortive woman encounters the reality that abortion is murder, that deep-seeded wound resurfaces, but often without the kind of support a recovering alcoholic or drug addict enjoys. She suffers in silence.
Emmaus Christian Fellowship’s post abortion outreach is specifically geared to reaching these women and connecting them with pregnancy care centers that are ready, willing, and able to help them in their search for forgiveness, justice, and peace.
